Year-End Event

December 17, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

We just had our year-end party in the company, and I attended this time. This was my second time to attend in Manila, but technically my third time because I attended last year in Sydney.

I'm not really into dressing up, but I got my dress from the Zalora Black Friday Sale. It was one size bigger, but I did not want to return it because I like the dress. On the day of the event, the boyfriend found an alteration shop just mere three hours before it. It was cheap, and rush. So yay. My housemate was supposed to do my hair, but when I went to meet her in Watsons, I found someone from the office having her hair fixed by the staff. I had my hair done as well. Another yay. My housemate did my make up. I like my look that night. :P

The boyfriend waited for me until after the event, and we had Wendy's signature iced tea. :P

I've been very busy lately, and that explains the lack of update on this blog. But I had to squeeze in the itinerary for our trip next week, and was able to finish it now. I missed doing this! But itinerary is all set, so we're ready to go on our last trip for the year. Yay!

P.S. I'll blog about our trips the previous months before the year ends, I promise! :P

I kinda wish that I was the sweeter one, but no. The boyfriend is the sweeter one; he has these little surprises that make me smile. Just this morning, the empty can of M&Ms is surprisingly full. He likes leaving stuff on my desk. He always has something for my family whenever I bring him home; small stuff I don't even know about. When I was upset at work, he bought me a cup of green tea latte. I will surprisingly find his selfies on my phone. He accompanied me to Makati Med until two in the morning just because I wasn't feeling too well. He goes with me on every bazaar, and has mastered going through each of the stalls. He goes with me on the spinning class, and also in the church service. He has not missed a single service yet since we started attending in Victory Makati.

I kinda wish I was the patient one, but no. This goes to the boyfriend as well. Someone who could keep up with my tantrums deserves the award. No competition.
I kinda pray we'll make it until the end.

Adulting

October 23, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

I (we) have been doing a lot of adulting, and this has been driving me crazy. I just finished reviewing several policies from different insurance companies, and have finally been able to select one for my brother. Yup, I got him an insurance policy. I also reviewed my policies, and still up to getting another one to cover a rider that I'm missing; I still have few months before my birthday.

I also been busy fixing my investments; I'm into for-the-lazy-people type of investments. I finally been able to setup my auto invest for my Sun Life mutual fund. I have not been able to touch it since I opened it, ugh.

Almost five months into the relationship, and we have been preparing (kinda) for our future. We've gotten ourselves another long-term investment. I'm pretty hoping for the best on these. He said that I'm the impulsive buyer, and he's the logical one. K, love.

Oh, but I got great news. I'm moving to the new condo early next year.. Well, that is if I don't change my mind about it. I've been wanting a place of my own. But we're (more like me) looking into diverting our funds on these to other investment. Pretty crazy adulting stuff, yeah.

Gtg, I need to create a Pinterest board for design inspirations.

September

September 17, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

I've been terribly busy at work and life, and I am unable to update my blog as much as I'd like to. I still have stories to tell you about our Bacolod-Guimaras-Iloilo trip, and Corregidor trip. So wait for it, okay?

I am happy that he shares my love for travel, or probably just want peace and calm in our lives? Kidding. But anyway, we'd still got quite a lot for the remaining of the year. We have Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar for this month, Costales Nature Farm which we might schedule this coming October, Baguio in November and Tacloban this December. Oh yay, that's a lot for the memory hoarding couple. :P

We will have the Baguio trip because of my expiring passport. Because tadah we'll do our first international trip next year. We'll do Singapore, Malaysia and Bali this coming March, and I need to have a valid passport. Unfortunately, only Baguio has a slot for my passport renewal. So there, wait for us, Baguio. :P The Singapore and Bali, plus a bit of Kuala Lumpur and Penang, will take much of our budget next year, so it's going to be our only trip next year. But I'm hoping we can still do few local trips noh? :P

Aside from travel preparations, I've been thinking of whether to enrol in Anytime Fitness with him, or pursue the indoor cycling workout. If we do Anytime Fitness, we can workout on our Fridates. But I also like to go back to my yoga practice. I'm so torn.

I've been practicing the camera, not as much though. I bought several manual lens that I should start to work on. Someone talked me into getting a zoom, wide and portrait lens. I'm really excited to practice on my camera.

We also have few small investments together. Di lang puro gala! :P Part of prepping ourselves for the future, not necessarily us in the future together, but it's always good to have investments.

These are what keeping me busy these days. But I'm also thinking of going back to attending the church service. I used to attend the one in Pioneer, but couldn't attend as much since I always come back to Manila a bit later than I used to. It could be a good idea to attend the one in Makati. I'm talking him into attending with me as well. I just feel like we need this to grow as a couple too. Everyone knows our relationship didn't start as right as it should, but I trust that we'd grow better in time. We need to forgive ourselves on the bad decisions we made in the past, and pray that our relationship will stand the test of time.

So that's it, the restless kid in me wants to do a lot of things.

August

August 18, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

August is busy as usual. It's been a year since we moved in to our not-so-new home. It's twice busy right now because of my current workload and his birthday month. The weekend before his birthday, I had my free medical check up in Edsa Shangrila courtesy of my insurance company. This also came with a free breakfast buffet in Heat! Yay.

I went to Gateway after the medical check up to get him the chocoliquor cake which is a personal favorite. But I misread their bazaar schedule, and they were not in Gateway last Saturday. I went to Robinson's Magnolia instead to get the cake. Effort besh. I went gift hunting after the cake hullabaloo.

Last Sunday, we attended his nephew's birthday. They were supposed to pick me up at home, but I went to their house instead to surprise him. I brought the cake, and he did look surprised to see me. Achievement unlocked! We had face paints from the party, but we went shoe shopping after. People were looking at us, but he wanted to keep the face paint at least for that day. We went to Maisen for the buy 1 take 1 late katsu dinner, and sorta birthday salubong. Yay, I was happy because I didn't think we'd be together on his birthday salubong, but we were. We went to Vikings Niu after work on his birthday, that was my first time in Niu. We were there for four hours! I had steak, tempura, wine and cheese! I absolutely love it there. For the first time of celebrating his birthday together, I'd say it wasn't so bad.

We still have so much lined up for August. We have a wedding to attend to, a Spiral lunch with my friends, and our Bacolod-Iloilo trip. So much is happening, and I'm still kinda urging him to avail the Onsen Spa birthday promo. I still have time to make him say yes. :P

We've had a rough start, but he has so much patience on me and my petty issues. He supports me on the things I want to do, and he has always been dependable. He doesn't care if I get fat, or moody. So, happiest birthday, my love. He said he enjoyed his birthday with me, yay!

First at Ball Pit Manila

July 15, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

Ball Pit Manila, yay! It's one of the adult playgrounds that I've been dying to go to. Then, we scored a great deal online, we got it for only PhP199 instead of PhP299. Thanks Metrodeal!

When they say that they've got thousand balls to play with, they're not joking. White balls. So better wear something colorful so you'd stand out in your photos! We were supposed to book ahead of time, but they said that we can actually just walk in. We did, it was Monday, and the probability of having a lot of people at the same time was low. Truth be told, the place is small for a bunch of strangers. It's probably a different story for a bunch of good friends wanting to have fun.

We came at 8pm, and there was a couple there already. The good thing, they were there at 7pm so they were almost finished on their time when we came in. Yup, we had the ball pit all by ourselves. It was totally fun.

We brought fresh and clean pair of socks, because it's required before entering the ball pit. They also sell pair of socks, so you can purchase yours there.

They also have several onesies that are being rented out. We had the unicorn one. Why, can you blame me? :P
I'm a unicorn!
It was an hour of non-stop fun playing in the sea of balls. Because why not?

my favorite photo of us in Ball Pit Manila
If you've been eyeing to go here, go and play in the sea balls. I had so much fun! Promise! It was a great time for us!

Travel Together

July 13, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

I've been pretty busy lately. I am actually sick today, and has been sick since last week. But that did not stop me from going to their family event and travel expo last weekend. And that doesn't stop me from planning our trip for next month either. Yup, our first non-chillax trip. :P I can't wait.

We've got few trips lined up for this year, and until next year. We went to the travel expo and scored this great travel deal for next year. Plus, that one is actually a dream come true for me! I cannot wait for that trip. Yay to travel expo.

It's gonna be busy months for me though. But yup, looking forward to those trips to keep me sane! Hmm, I should get the Travel Together pandora charm, noh? Hehe!

Why do I love thee?

He accompanies me to an impromptu three-hour salon session.

He waits for me to finish taking photos of our food until I've decided that I already have an instagram-worthy one.
He travels all the way from ParaƱaque to Bulacan to attend family events.
He surprises me with simple stuff.
He promises to watch John Lloyd movies with me (Yes, Finally Found Someone!).
He is dependable.
He trusts me and my judgement.
He is fun to be with.
He makes me laugh all the time.
He never gets bored at me on my lack of knowledge in movies and music.
He can read me like a book.
He keeps up with my tantrums.
He takes care of me.

I love him because of all these. But I love him more than all these combined with all the other reasons unknown to me.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Weekend

June 26, 2017 Tsina 1 Comments

It is a long weekend, and did not schedule a trip anywhere because we attended the graduation of Prof last Saturday in UPLB. We spent the night in Pansol. It was quite a long time since the Team Tadhana had get together. We had lots of kwento over drinks in the pool. We had the pool by ourselves, yay. John and Alvin missed this though. I brought him to meet them. He already met my college friends, and few of my work friends in the previous company. He met my family twice in the province too. Wala pa kami one month, besh.

I met the Team Tadhana  two years ago, during my birthday trip in Batad. We became good friends since then. We celebrate each other's milestone. We were up until 5am the following day, and woke up at around 8am to check out. Kaantok besh. But we had fun definitely.
We went home and slept for the day, and then he brought me to his family dinner. That was the second time I meet them. We were a bit underdressed though. :P

During this long weekend, I had time to blog, and sort photos for the photobook as well. I've been meaning to start printing my travel photos. I started on this today, yay. I say well-spent long weekend.

Boracay Birthday

June 26, 2017 Tsina 1 Comments

I celebrated my birthday in Boracay. Hmm, that was my second time to celebrate my birthday in Boracay, but my nth time in that wonderful place. I consider it my happy place. That was also the first time to celebrate my birthday with him, I shared my happy place with him this time.

We were supposed to visit Antique as well, but I got the room at Willy's Hotel at a very good price that I couldn't let it go. We planned to at least do a day trip in Antique so we booked a room at Aranas-Carillo Travellers Inn in Kalibo, but the flight got delayed, and we overslept a bit. We just ate the crispiest liempo in Kalibo at Ramboy's to make up for this. Very tasty and really crispy liempo, try this place when you visit Kalibo, alrighty?
We left Kalibo a little over lunch, and took more than an hour on the van + boat ride to Boracay. We immediately checked in at Willy's. We rested a bit, and started to explore the island. Plus photos, I brought the camera with us so I could do a bit of practice. Puro practice, besh. :P

Per our agreement, I will arrange this trip, and he'll research on places where we could eat. Easy peasy, mister. Since that was my birthday, we had dinner at Bar Lo in Two Seasons, he got me the best four-cheese pizza ever! We super love it. We even came back on our last day for the four-cheese pizza. :P
Since he splurged a bit on our first night, we ate at Smoke Resto for our lunch on the second day. This is located in D'Mall, we tried the sizzling bulalo. We ordered bulalo and beef salpicao. I personally like beef salpicao, it's tasty. Smoke Resto is a cheapo but good place to get your food in Boracay. For the dessert, I brought him in Zucchero Cafe, an unassuming cafe at Station 2. This was a discovery from the Boracay trip in February this year. I love the cakes here, we got the brazo de mercedes and sansrival. We had an isaw night for dinner. We went to find Merly's BBQ and got our cravings satisfied.
Since our hotel accommodation came with a buffet breakfast, we usually took late lunch. We were eyeing the Cha Cha's Beach Cafe, but it looked a bit expensive. We checked the menu during one of our walks and found the menu appealing at competitive price. We had our late lunch here on our third day. We got the formaggi and the winner winner chicken. This cafe has glowing reviews and we couldn't help but agree that they have really good stuff going on them. But I still vote for Bar Lo's four-cheese pizza as the best pizza ever. :P
For our late dinner, we tried the Boracay Toilet, because this is near Willy's, and been wanting to try this place. We only got the tortang talong because we were craving for it, but been utterly disappointed. For someone who always finishes his food, he left more than half of it untouched. It was that bad. To make up for the disappointment, we walked to D' Mall and had the mango madness at Lemoni Cafe. This lifted our spirit a bit.
On our last lunch at the island, we went back at Bar Lo. Because four-cheese pizza. I told you, we love it. :P Food trip galore on Boracay, we had Jonah's Fruitshake every now and then, because banana choco peanut fruitshake is love. We went to Real Coffee to get calamansi muffin for pasalubong

We stayed at Boracay for at least three nights and four days. Mostly spent beach bumming and exploring the island. Oh, and food trip. I love Boracay at this time of the year, no lumot but crazy waves and a bit of rain every now and then. We got tired playing with the waves. But enjoyed the crazy waves, at least I did. :P

Camera

June 12, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

I am another year older! Yay or nay? :P I celebrated my birthday in Boracay, and enjoyed few days beach bumming in there. Plus food trip, and had a bit of practice on my camera. My favorite subject is very patient with me.

Yup, I got my own mirrorless camera now. I used to want a DSLR, but I find it expensive and bulky during travels. But the Sony A6000 is travel-friendly, plus has a lot of potential to capture every moment perfectly. Well, that is if I get any good. :P

I was torn between the Sony A6000 and the Fujifilm XA3 but decided on the Sony A6000 because of the good reviews. Both have good reviews though, but the Sony one got better reviews. I've also been scouting on where to get the camera for the past weeks. My mind was set on getting it. He offered to shoulder half the amount as his birthday gift, Christmas gift and also Valentines gift just in case he forgets it. Ha ha! He is the most generous person ever!

But yup, I've got my own camera now!!! I am thinking of starting a photo portfolio to showcase how I will evolve as a photographer. Come on, I will get better, right? :P

I am grateful for another year, and for the birthday gift. My heart is happy.

Boracay Foodie Spots

April 24, 2017 Tsina 1 Comments

I was in Boracay last February, until the V-day. :P It was for my friend's birthday celebration. I went with both Carla and Cora on February of last year as well, but unable to blog about it. Going to Boracay with these two was nothing but fun and chill vacay. We've been pretty good on beach bumming.
beach bumming
We stayed at Willy's Beach Hotel this time. For last year, we were at Sur Beach Resort, but we wanted to save on the accommodation a bit. For me, Willy's is always a good choice, location and service wise.

We had a bit food trip in between our beach bumming moments. We went on Tom N Tom's Coffee at Station 1 on our first night, a fairly new coffee shop in Boracay. This is perfect spot for coffee and chat with friends. Another new foodie spot that we went to would be the Sunny Side Cafe at Station 3, sarap ng nutella and mango wonut, bes!

On the next days, we went to the usual foodie spots, Jonah's Fruitshake, Pat's Creek Bar and Real Coffee. We were also able to visit the SpiderHouse to witness the sunset on this side of the island. Food is a wee bit expensive, but you'd visit for the sunset, right? :P
Another great discovery would be the Zucchero Cafe at Station 2. Sarap ng brazo de mercedes nila, promise!

Generally, the Boracay trip was fun, and busog lusog

My Almost Christmas Trip in Sydney

April 13, 2017 Tsina 0 Comments

I was in Sydney again for three weeks last year. We left on the last week of November, and was back almost a week before Christmas! It wasn't the best time to be in Sydney because of the weather, but hey, I was back to my favorite place!

Sydney is still my favorite place. When my boss told me that I'd be going back for work, I got excited. Yup, I got excited about work, ha ha! Kidding aside, I was a bit scared to go there because of the work waiting for me, but lo and behold, we completed the work successfully, and had time to enjoy the stay as well. Yay.

Visiting the Sydney Opera House is always the first thing I do in Sydney. Yup, that was what we did. I love the Opera House, I am always filled with wonder when I am in that place.

During the first weekend, we decided to do the Bondi to Coogee walk. It is a 6km trail with really picturesque view. This was the first time I did this, and I did not regret it. The stunning views were enough to compensate on the long walk.

During the time we were in Sydney, we met up with a lot of our old teammates. We eat out with the current team, and basically explored different foodie places. It was such a fun treat for me.
With Xun, our former developer at Hurricane's Grill, they have the best ribs!
One of the foodie explorations of the team, Bar Luca, they have best burger!
With Dinh at Munich Brauhaus, the Munich Brewers Platter is certainly good!
the team with Lisli at Chef's Gallery
team's year-end dinner at Bowery Lane
We were also able to join the year-end party, Sydney edition. Yay. I saw an old crush, but was too torpe to say hi. :P

Aside from the shopping trips with my Auntie, we also went to visit The Grounds of Alexandria, almost every single thing is looking pretty at this place. Unfortunately, we were unable to try the coffee.

I was also able to do a lunch cruise with my auntie, a first for me and her treat. Ha ha! We were a bit early for the lunch cruise so we went first to the Sydney Opera House for some photos.

When it was almost time for the lunch cruise, we went back to the ferry terminal and lined up. There were quite a number of people already, we didn't avail of the buffet which was a good thing because we were served on our table instead. The view from our seat was magnificent too.

I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch cruise, it's actually on my bucket list to do an actual cruise for days. But maybe someday, I guess?

It was almost Christmas during the Sydney trip, and there was a big Christmas tree by the office building. There were carollers every afternoon.
Speaking of Christmas, I was able to score two Pandora charms, the Cinderella charm (a gift to myself) and the fish charm (a gift for me) plus a bangle. Yay, happy.

It wasn't the best time to visit Sydney because of the heat, but it was a wonderful time to meet everyone back then again. We were back in Manila on the 17th of December, in time for my brother's birthday the following day.
