Seoul (Not) Searching: Petite France and Garden of the Morning Calm

June 26, 2016 Tsina 0 Comments

We missed visiting Petite France, a French cultural village, when we visited Nami Island. So, since we had lots of time, we decided to still pay a visit on this one on another day. This place pays tribute to Saint-Exupery, the author of the French novel Le Petite France. We paid 6,000 won for the entrance fee. We took the Gapyeong shuttle bus to Petite France. We paid 6,000 won. There are galleries and memorial hall dedicated to Saint-Exupery.

The Petite France was also the location in one of the famous scenes in the Koreanovela, My Love from the Star. So yes, I watched it, this was shown few years ago only. :P

But aside from that there are lots to see in Petite France, lotsa pretty things related to the French culture of course.

We were in Petite France when I received messages that my photo has been shortlisted in the Asia Photo Competition at work. Hihi. We were leaving that time, going to the Garden of the Morning Calm. We went to the bus terminal, and waited for the shuttle. We paid 7,000 won for the entrance. The Garden of the Morning Calm is the oldest private garden in Korea.

I have higher expectations, maybe this wasn't the time of the year. The private garden is huge, some parts were awesome, but other parts were not. But the some parts that were good really looked grand.

Okay, or maybe I just had higher expectations then? Given another chance to visit Korea, I'd probably not skip the Garden of the Morning Calm, and would be eagerly pay another visit.

When it fails, there is a small voice that tells you, You didn't mess up as much. Good job. You let out a sigh of relief.

Seoul Searching: Hello Kitty Cafe and Lotte World

June 12, 2016 Tsina 0 Comments

We got lost searching for the Hello Kitty Cafe. Because we really have to be here, I love Hello Kitty, reallyyyy. We took the wrong train stop, and already walked a lot before we finally get to see the cafe. It was already lunch, we decided to get ramen before having our coffee fix in this cute shop. Hihi.

If you're actually rooting for Hello Kitty, this is the place to go. The shop is pink! You could actually feel the Hello Kitty vibe here. We got ourselves coffee, and settled on one of the tables.

Look at this coffee art, Hello Kitty, hihi. Lovely.

After we had our coffee fix, we went to Lotte World, an indoor theme park. I was supposed to meet my college friends (ex's classmates, sorta same group of friends). But they went to Nami Island, and got stranded because it rained hard. We bought the after 7pm ticket, it has a different rate. Well, cheaper. The regular rate is 33,000 won, for after 7pm it would only be 17,000 won. We weren't planning to try the rides, so after 7pm admission ticket should suffice.

We found the merry-go-round used in the koreanovela Stairway to Heaven, hihi. So yes, I watched it as well when I was younger. :P Blame GMA7. :P
the merry-go-round
Di ko sure kung ano trip ko nito. :P
We went around Lotte World while waiting for the night parade. The theme park looks grand at night.
Lotte World after 7pm
The night parade was equally amazing. It lit the whole place.

We left right after the night parade. It was a long day anyway.
long but fun day

I just celebrated my birthday in Palawan, hurray. I went to Port Barton in San Vicente, Palawan and El Nido for my birthday trip. More on that when I find the time to blog about it, alright? :P I still haven't finished the Korea trip, and haven't blogged about the Cebu-Bohol, Batangas, Boracay, and Kalinga trips I had. WHHHYYYY.

I just fully paid the downpayment for the house yesterday. Yay. Few more constructions on our end, and we can move to the new house. Probably my year noh? :P

For now though, here's a photo of me in El Nido, Palawan. Happy birthday to me!
