It's More Fun Surfing in Baler

January 31, 2014 Tsina 0 Comments

For the last hullabaloo of the year, we went surfing on the 27th of December. I went with Ara, Kat, Reno and Brian at Baler. Reno lives in Baler so we stayed in his place. Tipid. :P I already tried surfing when we went to Bagasbas; it was an interesting experience. Hehe. But on this Baler trip, I was supposed to get the best two seconds of my life, well, that was the goal. :P

Reno reserved us sleeper bus tickets on Joy Bus, the luxury bus of Genesis. We paid P700 for the non-stop bus ride with snacks, blankets and pillows. But mind you, it is very cold in the bus, make sure to wear something warm. The trip is only five hours! We arrived at Baler at around 5am, and took our free breakfast at Reno's house. We went to Sabang Beach right away. The surfing started with a quick intro and demo.
Ara and the surfboard
I told my senior manager that we'd be surfing, so this was a very serious business for me. She has been badgering me to get a hobby for the longest time. Hehe. :P
serious business
My instructor told me that I am a regular. See, I am a regular. I know, I am a regular. I learned as much from my Bagasbas surfing sesh. :P
Reno, Kat and Brian are all good surfers already. So, the pressure was on us! No, it wasn't easy. I got off-balance all the time. All the freaking time.
I like this photo. :P
Makakaya ko din yan! ;P
But when it was almost time, I was able to finally stand up in the surfboard. No kidding.

I know, my stance was hardly impressive. I promise, I'd be more confident next time. Yes, we'd go surfing again. :P

We paid P350 for an hour of surfing session (actually, it was more than an hour).  We went to Reno's place to take our lunch, and moved to his other place. We kinda fell asleep on our way there; and decided that we badly needed rest. We slept the rest of the afternoon, and only went out for dinner.

The following morning, we decided to have another session of surfing. I'm really glad we did, because I was able to stand up in the surfboard multiple times. Don't say.. photos, or it didn't happen. It did. But we didn't take surfing photos on the second day.:P But we did have a photo op with the surfboard. :P
my lock screen photo hehe
We'll surf again this April, and expect that I'd be more confident on my surfing photos. Gagalingan ko na! :P

My 2014 Vision Board

January 11, 2014 Tsina 1 Comments

My vision board last year was a success. I was able to get all the important stuff done. No, I still don't have the Louis Vuitton tote. Let the future boyfriend save for that. Hahahahahahaha.

Inspired by the 2013 board, I've decided to come up with the 2014 vision board. So I went to Pinterest, and started pinning. Let me share what I have so far.

Notice that I only have one thing that falls on the worldly want. :P My old but dependable laptop is, well, old. It's slow, too. I've been wanting to get an Air for the longest time, but it's too expensive. Maybe, this year, I could squeeze it on my budget. Hopefully. Or maybe, I could gift that to myself when I get one of my goals this year. Guess which one is that! :P

I'm planning to travel as much as I could. I love to go and see wonderful places. This year, I booked several trips out of the country - Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Indochina. Bet you would see me starving, I guess. Lols. Oh, and I want a travel buddy too, pretty please? :P

I'll be getting the sablay this April. This year, I should continue the things that I started last year. I must continue to pay for our dream house. I really have to seriously look for a regular volunteer work. I'm planning to get my second tattoo too. :P

This 2014 should be a year of learnings and growth. I want to earn a new certification for software testing. I already have the ISTQB foundation level, might be good time to take the certification on the advanced level. I also want to learn lots of stuff, like swimming, driving and cooking. Not really into driving. Hehe. But I could give it a try. I'd like to learn how to swim, so I could enjoy the beach more. I also want to be good on surfing. Maybe, I could surf few times this year. I'll try to get back to boxing too. I boxed few times last year. Hopefully, I'd be able to do this better this year.  Plus I also want to learn how to cook, because people judge my worth on how domesticated I am (whatever guys). Seriously, I want to learn how to cook, or at least bake, just so I could cook when there are events at home.

I'm thinking of taking a new masters. Although I'm not sure if I could be able to achieve it this year. I checked online, and my options are narrowed to Master in Community Development, Creative Writing/Malikhaing Pagsulat or Master of Public Administration. Not sure yet on this goal though.

Aja on my 2014 vision board!
